DNB PROGRAMME

Medical sisters of St .Joseph ( MSJ )started their first mission in North India on 1st January 1969, and took over the Fatima Hospital and to serve the people of Lucknow. On 13th October, 1978 the new surgical block with 40 beds, 2 Operation Theatres and a Recovery Ward was inaugurated. Fatima Hospital has continuously had full bed occupancy and is renowned for its quality care, dedicated and compassionate services of the staff. Another feather was added to Fatima Hospital’s cap when Shanti Niketan, a Hospice for HIV/AIDS patients was started at Dasuli, Kursi road ,Lucknow in 2003. Fatima Hospital also launched a full-fledged Ayurvedic Hospital at Dasuli, Kursi Road in 2008. Certified by NABH, we aims at streamlining the entire operations of the Hospital.

Fatima Hospital is 220 bedded multispecialty hospital with 190 Operational beds and equipped with all modern facilities with state of the art treatment options as follows:

Specialities: Gen Medicine, Cardiology , Neurology, Nephrology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, Dermatology, Dialysis, Gen Surgery, Orthopaedic, Plastic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Gynaecology, Psychiatry, Eye, ENT, Anaesthesiology, Paediatrics. TPA DNB Courses at Fatima Hospital, Lucknow Diplomate of National Board (DNB) is a Postgraduate Medical Examination conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE), New Delhi on all India basis. DNB is recognized at par with M.D., M.S., MCh and D.M. degrees and is included in the First Schedule of Medical Council of India (MCI). The teaching experience of DNB qualified candidates is deemed to be equal to one year's experience as Tutor/Registrar/Demonstrator or equivalent post in a recognized Medical College imparting undergraduate teaching and training for appointment as Lecturer.

Fatima Hospital, Lucknow is presently accredited to impart training and teaching in the following subjects:

October Batch:

  • Gen Medicine : 2 seats
  • OBG (post Dipolma) : 2 seats
  • OBG (After MBBS) : 2 Seats
Duration of Courses :
  • Broad Specialities after MBBS : 3 Years
  • Broad Specialities after P.G. Diploma : 2 Years
Admission Criteria and Procedure :
  • All candidates (3 years training after passing Primary/CET examination and 2 years training after passing Postgraduate Diploma courses) are required to register with the NBE within one month from the date of joining Fatima Hospital, Lucknow
  • Age preferably under 35 yrs. at the time of admission.
  • The admissions will be made twice a year in August and in January as detailed above under point.
  • There will be an advertisement in National Newspapers of English edition and the selection will be made after an interview.
  • The selected candidates will have to undergo medical examination on payment of a charge.
  • Along with necessary fees the candidates shall have to submit all the documents in duplicat
  • Hostel Facility available for DNB students
The candidates must submit their thesis protocols within three months of admission and full thesis should be sent six months prior to their final examination for approval of N.B.E., New Delhi.
